I've been searching, but can't find anything online that indicates
when the EV-DO Rev. A update to the HTC Mogul will be available.
Anyone here have any insight?
Loreal Lavigna - 07 Oct 2007 13:50 GMT
I'm not sure just yet. All I can say is keep checking Sprint's site as I've been doing most recently and also utstarcom.com who might have some insight, too. HTH!

Just thought you guys might like to know I had heard, and need to varify this for sure, that there will be another upgrade for the Mogul in January, resolving the issue of previously mentioned in this thread. There is an upgrade now that fixes some issues with blue tooth the sprint msuic store, and a few others. I'm playing with it now while I work and haven't come across any errors yet. I'll elt the group know what I find out!!! Thanks for the HTC site, I found the upgrade for the mogul there today.

Thanks for the update.  I guess the previous releases stating the
update to EV-DO happening in the Fall are no longer valid?
Loreal Lavigna - 29 Oct 2007 07:58 GMT
As  I said I need to varify the validity of whether or not this proposed upgrade coming in the next few months is or isn't for sure. Hope this helps!!!

I performed the latest firmware update, and now I have no bluetooth

you can roll back to the older firmware update for the time being
until a new update is created, there is a link on HTC's download site
for doing this.  the 2.09 version is the older one.
Kim Groves - 01 Nov 2007 23:22 GMT
Thanks.
I can't seem to roll my rom back further than the version I downloaded. The
version I had initially when I pickup up my phone is July 2007 must have
been earlier than what was referenced on this site. Seems several people
have had problems with the new rom software version, ranging from the phone
locking up when in roaming mode to blue tooth turning itself on and off. Too
bad this wasn't referenced in this newsgroup earlier. Oh well. I will play
with it and wait for an upgrade in 2008. If you know of a link to an earlier
rom version, I would love to try it.

Thanks,

Kim

The link in question is this:

I hope that helps you and the others with this problem.  According to
my sources, there is supposed to be a new
update available sometime early in early 2008.  Hopefully, they will
find a way to get it done sooner.

You shouldn't have any problems with your bluetooth connectivity. When you say you had connectivity in your car, were you using an earpiece, or did your car have some built-in functionality? Were there any interruptions whatsoever during the upgrade process? I'm just trying to help out and see if maybe there was something done that might have inadvertently caused you to have this problem.

The update trashed my bluetooth connectivity with my car as well. I have
also done two hard resets, reinstalled the earliest ROM update available
(which is not the newest one on the web), and, after trying to get the bt
connection to work (like about ten attempts), did get the phone to be seen
by the car. Once I did a reinstall from that point for backed up software (I
used spb backup software), and the phone was fine, but the bt didn't work
(which is where I was after the ROM update). Later, when I was willing to
give it another chance, I again did a hard reset. I eventually could get the
bt to work. I did a program by program reinstall. Part of the way through
this process, I couldn't get my touch screen to work. I have subsequently
just done an entire software reinstall, which put all of my preferred
programs back on the phone, and I have my touchscreen back, but no bt.

No bt. No bt. No bt.... at least with my car, which is all I cared about. I
have considered returning the phone for a replacement, but really, IF I
HADN'T INITIALLY INSTALLED THE ROM UPDATE, I wouldn't have this problem.

There,...'nuff said.

Ouch.  Now I'm afraid to try updates to my Mogul.

I have learned one thing about the bluetooth with my Mogul that might or
might not help you.

If I have the bluetooth running on my phone and then turn on my Bluetooth
Stereo device everything works fine in a matter of seconds.

If I turn on my Bluetooth Stereo device first and then enable bluetooth on
the Mogul the two devices might not ever connect.  I've seen that happen and
even gave up trying it that way after an hour and then tried it the other
way around, where I turn on the bluetooth on the phone first, and it worked.
Kim Groves - 25 Nov 2007 21:51 GMT
Interesting. Perhaps I ran into that problem. I will give it a try.

Your suggestions worked for me! Thanks. I would have sworn that I tried
every way possible to get the bt to work. I followed your suggestion: have
bt active on the Mogul, then have it 'pair up" with my bt device (in this
case, by car).
It works. My wife said it sounds crappy, but I understand that to be a bt
stack problem with windows mobile software. If you hear of an HTC fix for
this, please list it here. Otherwise, I will be anxiously awaiting the next
firmware upgrade and give it a spin.

Thanks again,

K. Groves

There has now been an upgrade to the rom release for the HTC mogul. Go to the following link and click on the link for software downloads. http://www.america.htc.com/support/mogul/default.html
Hopefully this will work for the rest of you guys as it has me. I recently had difficulty with one of the 2 bluetooth devices I have for my mogul, and this update apparently seems to have fixed the problem... HTH!!!

Oddly enough, I when I use the Stereo Bluetooth
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Bluetooth-Stereo-S705-SoundPilot/dp/B000NK9HKQ

there are times it sounds better than a direct connection to the phone.

Something screwes up with a direct connection from time to time and I have
to unplug everything from the phone and then plug it back in to get it to
sound better.

I found a new problem/FIX with my Bluetooth Stereo.

I bought a new Stereo Bluetooth headset the Sony DR-BT22
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DRBT22-Wireless-Stereo-Headset/dp/B000VE7S9Q

The problem is, after pairing it works just fine as a hands-free but if I
want it to work as a wireless stereo I have to use the following routine.

Comm Manager->Settings->Bluetooth then hold the stylus down on DR-BT22 until
a menu shows up on the same screen.

Once the menu shows up select "Set as Wireless Stereo" and shortly after
that it will start working as a "Wireless Stereo headset."

I also found out, if I use the above routine I can connect to my Motorola
S705 even if I turn it on before the phone.

Plus, and here is the good part.  Using the tap and hold to bring up a menu,
I can easily go back and forth between Bluetooth Stereo devices and I don't
have to turn either one off.

BTW I haven't done any of the updates yet, but I certainly plan on doing the
update that should enable the GPS on the Mogul.
Kim Groves - 17 Dec 2007 01:28 GMT
It always helps to play around with the settings. I now have a connection
between my Mogul and my car. I had to delete a "custom" connection recorded
in the car, attempting to use a connection I named "Mogul". The Mogul wanted
to connect with the car using a setting in the Mogul named "car phone",
which was being sent to the Mogul by the car.

They see each other now.
