Don't wait for the lights to go off at Sprint.

At&t and Verizon have announced $99.99/month unlimited calling plans.

Sprint already has the "Sprint Unlimited Access Pack", that includes
unlimited voice calling, text messages, Web browsing and email for
$119.99, available in a few areas. I'd expect to see something similar
rolled out nationwide pretty quickly...

Yes but that limits you yo the Sprint Netowrk and saddles you with
Sprint customer Service.

Fortunately, one doesn't need sprint customer service except for setup.  I
deal with them less than once a year.

Not everyone is so lucky.

Billing errors. Involuntary contract extensions.
Local service issues. Phones dying (as happens with over heating 1900
MHZ phones) cause many folks to have to do battle with Sprint PCS.

Ah ... I should have known.  It is the sock puppet once known as Phillipe.
Don't take of what this guy says as fact.  He is known to spawn sock puppets
to support his own assertions and to change names frequently to avoid kill
files.

What is your next astounding fun fact, that the pope is catholic, or that GW
Bush is not an eloquent speaker?  What have you for an encore, that the iphone
is only available from AT&T?

We all know sprint CS sucks.  However, not all of us spend every waking
moment changing our phone service.  We use CS to setup initially, and then
just use the f.cking phone.  Use the web to order replacements every other
year. Pay your bill on time and avoid disconnection.

It is true, but that puppet's remark, "Phones dying (as happens with over
heating 1900 MHZ phones)" is the same crap he has been spewing for years,
which is what made it so easy to identify the sock puppet in the first place.

Yeah. THAT is a load of crap. I've never had a 1900 MHz phone die from
overheating. Not my Kyocera on Northcoast PCS/Revol, not any of my
Sprint PCS 1900 MHz CDMA phones, not any of my T-Mobile 1900 MHz GSM phones
either.

It doesn't even rate as crap.

The worst thing I've happen with sprint phones has been the quality of
samsung sph-i500 phones.  One had a bad touch panel.  Another a bad
microphone.  One a cracked case near the antenna.  Last one literally wore
out after 2 years: the case lost all it's paint due to friction of being
carried around in a pocket and then the case finally disintigrated!  During
all this time, the phone's RF circuitry worked flawlessly.  Nobody outside
that troll has ever reported sprint phones overheating.  It isn't even a
good lie.

I'm sure you're right.  As I posted to Mr Sobol, I no longer read this
group as I once did, but Phillipe/RobertM/Dr Frank is a true Usenet
kook, and like all kooks, he can't let go.  He demands attention.

I didn't realize.  My UseNet time is limited these days, so I haven't
really kept up with the happenings in the group.  Doesn't surprise me
though, that Dr Frank would continue to sock up and post lies.  Like
most kooks who post that they are leaving forever, he just can't let
go.  Masochism, I suppose.

Then you have other reasons to leave Sprint than just the plan pricing
it would seem. I've used my Sprint phones in every state east of the
Mississippi for both voice and data, with few problems, either on their
own network or roaming, so I have no complaints. As far CS goes, I've
rarely had a need to call them, and the few times I have were
satisfactory, so I have no complaints there either so far. If you've got
a few hours, I could tell you about my experiences with AT&T and Unicel
though, if you want some horror stories... :-)

I am already with Verizon, but, why should most people care?  They don't need
those kind of minutes.  I have a 700 minute family plan with phones on it and
still don't go over 700 minutes.
