Question about tethered connection. What is the fastest speed I could
get, and which carrier offers this service?

Thanks!

With GPRS you'll get "dialup" speeds i.e. speeds not much faster than
50 KBPS.  CSD is even slower at 9.6 KBPS.  Since you cross-posted this
to several non-similar groups we don't know which service you were
considering using with your computer.

Using T-Mobile's Merlin AirCard, I consistantly get 57.6k (minimum I have seen)
to just over 60k.

I have had the air card since October.

They advertise 40k to 60k so YMMV
