I am looking to upgrade my Treo 180.

Which reasonably-priced PalmOS smartphones WITH A KEYBOARD will work with
Tmobile GSM? Will a TungstenW work?

I use a Tungsten W on T-Mobile, and there are others, as well.

HOWEVER, do not purchase an ATTW Tungsten W. All Ws sold new in the US, by
Palm and others, AFAIK are 'subsidy-locked' to ATTWS and can only be used
on ATTWS.

You can
1) Buy an 'International Edition' elsewhere- AFAIK, those are unlocked

2) Buy one used, with unlocked being a condition of sale. "Unlocked" Ws go
for about $200 on eBay IIRC.

3) One Canadian firm says they can unlock a W. I have no experience with
them.

UNLOCKCELL.COM can unlock any GSM Treo 600.

Warning, this is a scam: they sell you something that has been
discovered by others and made available for free... :-(

Stay away from those thieves and do a search on TreoCentral boards
with the keywords "unlocked firmware" to get the file for free. Now of
course if you prefer to pay $30 to save you a few minutes of search,
it's up to you... ;-)
