At phonescoop the new Nokia 6010 claims to support 800MHz. Is this a sign
that T-Mobile finally will start supporting 800/850 in order to increase
thier coverage in the US? Frankly I don't see why T-Mobile only supports
1900MHz. Is there any reason for this?

T-Mobile ONLY has 1900MHz. As they expand their roaming agreements, I suspect
that they will handle more of the 800MHz phones though. It is just a guess on
my part about phone expansion though.

T-Mobile has carried phones before, such as the 3595, that support 850
mHz bands. But so far that functionality hasn't been useful for
subscribers because we have no roaming agreements for 850 mHz
coverage. I wouldn't bet on anything like that coming until the dust
settles from the combination of the current AT&T Wireless and
Cingular.
