I just got a 6600. The t-mobile dealer offered me somewhat of a subsidy if
I extended my contact (was 7 months into it) and got it for $430. I had a
t610 before.
Now, some frustrations... Mainly with picture messages and subjects.
You snap a photo, and can send it via MMS (multimedia) or email. Sending
via email fails. The default settings for email are myemail.t-mobile.com
for smtp server and incoming server, set to pop3. It will work via MMS if
you enter an email address, but the phone gives NO OPPORTUNITY to set the
subject. Very strange. May not seem like that big of a deal, but the
picture blog site I use takes the subject and uses it as the caption for
the picture. I can't just send it out via another smtp server, because in
some attempt to just keep the site for camera pics, it checks the provider
smtp server when receiving the message.
Next, no Opera browser. The 6600 is supposed to come pre-shipped with it.
I'm guessing t-mobile removed it. I guess I can go buy the thing. :-(
imap email seems to work quite well. A nice handy feature. And it syncs up
over bluetooth with my Mac flawlessly. (Need to try the data connection
next).
Does anyone know a t-mobile SMTP server that would work so I can use email
to send the messages through t-mobile and be able to set the subject THAT
way?

Not sure how the 6600 works - no direct experience. I know that MMS setting
are arcane. The SMTP server address you indicated is correct. Works fine
on my MOTO V600. I can send pictures via MMS or email (with subject and
text) with no problem. I would be surprised if you can't do the same with
the NOK 6600.

Apparently Opera is only included with European and African phones.
Fans of Opera -- the alternative Internet browser -- will be pleased to see
the software has been developed for the 6600 (and other Series 60 mobile
phones) with a feature that reformats Web sites to fit on small screens.
Nokia supplies Opera as a complimentary application to European and African
markets and Australian users can download the application here.

Yeah, I confirmed it's only like everywhere but U.S. phones.
I downloaded it and it works very well. You get 14 days to try it out for
free. Very nice browser for the phone.
