The TREO is certainly not a Motorola V600. DONT EVEN tell some one they can
just pop on the net and download the Firmware to activate a missing band on
the Unit, which hasnt even been sold yet, especially a TREO.. Thats alotta
money to spend. You dont even know if the hardware will even have the 850
capability. As to the Firmware, that may never be available, at least not
readily. I have a TREO 600, please, tell me where I can go get the Firmware
to flash that with TMOBILE Info. Simple, CANT
As to the original poster. Dont jump into that phone until you find what has
been crippled. if anything, and how it is crippled. Thats alotta bread to
drop on a phone to have buyers remorse a week later.
Good sources for info would be http://www.treocentral.com/ and

You misread my reply, I was commenting on the 850mhz band, saying that the
v600 can be flexed to get it back (850mhz)on a tmobile v600. I didnt mean
that a Treo needs too.The treo already comes with 850 enabled, dunno why you
would need to try to flex or flash it since its there already:) Since the
Treo is QUAD band, there isnt a missing band on it :P~~~~

How do you know the T-Mobile Treo comes with 850 enabled? The V600 is
a quad band phone, but with one of the bands disabled if you buy it
from T-Mobile. Is there any reason to believe the Treo will be any
different?
The previous poster's point was that it's _very_ easy to modify
carrier settings on Motorola phones, but it's probably much harder to
find software to do the same thing on a Treo.

Considering when you walk into a tmobile store and read the info posted on
the tmobile sign hanging on the wall above the display treo, that says it
will do 850mhz, one would suspect that it will do 850, since tmobile is
saying so in print.
