I got a Blackberry 7100t a few weeks ago and this has happened to me a
couple of times, but not as bad as today. For the last several hours,
the blackberry has just stopped delivering mail. I am using both a
desktop redirector and the web client, and... nothing is coming in on
either service. I can send outbound messages, but not get inbound.
The display shows a strong signal, status is "GPRS", etc.
I can understand system outages occasionally, but is there some place
I can look at to see whether the blackberry network has tried to
contact my handheld and failed? I'm wondering if there's a way to
determine if there's a problem with my handheld or it's actually the
network that's at fault.
Thanks
Sid

There's nothing wrong with your device settings. Nothing works when it
is out...web browsing, email, IM, etc. For at least four hours today
(maybe more) I wasn't receiving messages (with big GPRS logo). They
eventually come through...it's like the network has been clogged with
a spammer or something. There have been many short outtages, but his
is the second time I've noticed a long outtage in Blackberry service
after only having the device two months. Hopefully, Tmo can work with
RIM and get these network issues resolved.
Interesting note: During these outage periods, I've noticed that
sending name reverts to your generic tmo email or phone number (not
the one you have set up in the web settings page).
Thankfully, the regular phone part still works when they are having
problems...
Tmobile: when the network is down, COMMUNICATE to your customers.
Something as simple as a SMS to all your Blackberry customers saying
"The network is down...we're working on it" would go a long way and
save us the time from calling in to tech support wondering what's
going on. We understand that things happen out of your control, and
will be understanding, but COMMUNICATE, dig?
