Does T-Mobile have any roaming coverage in Lutsen, MN?

Do I need an 850 MHz phone?

Here's a thought:  Go to www.tmobile.com, click coverage, enter your ZIP
and get your answer.  TMo does not use the 850MHx band only 1900.

Thanks for your useless reply.

There are many places in Northern WI and MN where people have reported to
have successfully roamed on Dobson, which is not shown on the T-Mobile
coverage map.

I was hoping to get some first hand information from someone who had
actually been there.

Anythings possible but according to the coverage map on compass, there is no
roaming coverage but stranger things have happened.

Looks like there is no GSM coverage in Lutsen.

We get coverage in northern MN with our T-Mobile SIM in an unlocked
Siemens S56.

To see if Lutsen is covered, go to www.gsmworld.com.

Click on GSM roaming at the top.

Click on GSM Coverage maps.

Click on United States.

Click on Dobson, Coverage Map.

Lutsen is east of Taconite Harbor where the coverage supposedly ends.

Our Cabin is at Brimson (which is no coverage), and we use a Yagi
Antenna pointed west, and it works.

Does that phone support GSM 850?

I've seen the Dobson map.  Sometimes you can get lucky and the coverage area
is better than published.

The S46 is 1900 GSM and 850 TDMA

S56 is 1900 GSM and 850 GSM Only.  WAP won't work with Dobson, but will
work with T-Mobile from this phone.  Can't get the modem to work with
either.
