And this is relevant for the rest of the world, how...? Everything working
fine here in Texas. Have you re-booted your phone yet?

If you know of a newsgroup that is only for NY area t-mobile users, feel
free to suggest it.

Given the quality of the recent contributions from NY area users, I'd say
ny.test would be sufficient ;)

No, TMobile says that indeed they have a major service outage. And I am
not sure there is a re-set for the Samsung E105
It is relevant because I am wondering if it is just NY or everyplace?

Than a single ? instead of multiple !!!!! would have been sufficient. You
made it look like the weekly The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
message.
Come to think of it, what _is_ the current terror level? Chartreuse?

Oh no, he was found guilty of the wrong number of exclamation marks.

It's not even all over NY. I've been using GPRS all week with no
problem in my neck of the city and in several Midtown destinations.

I was using my WAP access regularly all day yesterday in NYC. I
suspect it was a specific area that had an issue and not the whole
city.

I experienced the gprs outage up into the Southeastern Massachusetts
area between monday night/tuesday morning 1/18 till at least friday
1/21.  It was out for me between 12am and at least 6-7am eastern time.

When I called T-Mobile tuesday morning around 2am the customer service
guy used my zip code to lookup a gprs service map and see if any work
was being done in my area.  He said there was being service done and the
work order said it was being done across the entire t-mobile gprs
network and not just locally in my area.

I had tried WAP before calling customer service and it had failed which
gave me a clue something was up   The CSR had me retry the WAP feature
of my Motorola v66 to see if that would connect.  It took a few extra
seconds for it to connect/send/receive and he said from the indication
he was getting on his end that the WAP was connecting through a fallback
connection and not the way it normally would have and that is why it was
still working.  I don't recall exactly what he called the fallback but I
assume it was a csm that used plan minutes.  Since it was during the
overnite any used minutes wouldn't show up on my plan anyways.
