Just within the past couple of weeks, I discovered that I can now roam
on USA 890 in Ludlow, VT (near Rutland). What is USA-890? It must
operate at 850 MHz since my quad band phone can roam on it ut my
crippled T-Mobile V600 can't. This is interesting since T-Mobile sells
on quad band phones. In any event, I'm happy. So, I can get internet
too. It's nowhere near the spped of Verizon's EVDO but it is usuable.

I believe that's Unicell. They also have 1900 mHz coverage in Vermont,
because I picked up in Waterbury a few months ago. Although,
interestingly enough, when I was there, I did NOT have GPRS access, so
the roaming agreement must have changed or there must have been a
fluke.

I have a question. I am on T-Mobile and was able to roam on US-890 last
year in Bennington VT on 1900GSM
Now I am unable to roam so after reading your posting I am assuming you are
on an unlocked quad band phone, using a T-Mo sim card?
If this is right then RCC/Unicel still has an agreement with T-Mo, which is
good as I have been receiving conflicting reports: that they do no longer
have a roaming agreement, they(Unicell/RCC) have cut off their 1900GSM
service, or that everything is fine and everyone ie tech guys at T-Mo do
not understand why I cannot roam in Bennington, VT. with T-Mo and US 890.
If you have any insight it would be great

I have a T-Mobile SIM and am unlocked qaud band phone. I had the same
phone last year and I wasn't able to roam. Normally, I don't bring it
to VT as it doesn't work (I use Verizon instead. ) I just happened to
bring it this time and noticed that I have service. It's good news for
me as the Unicel signal is better than Verizon's.

I am afraid I have another question. I just got an email from a tech rep
from T-Mo who said that T-Mo has stopped their roaming agreement with
RCC/Unicel. So, now I am confused as you apparently were roaming on US890
ie Unicel/RCC
Any ideas what is going on!

That is most likely 850, which could narrow down the problem in Bennington.
