Apparently only voice is charged when roaming?
Does anybody get charged for data roaming?
We used about 5MB on Dobson. The bill is posted. No charges, except
for voice. I would think we would owe them $10/MB according to my
original I-Stream plan. I remember in the old days when we got billed
for this, but Dobson didn't have GSM in those days, so it was only on
T-Mobile. Does it make a difference if you use wap.voicestream.com or
internet2.voicestream.com?
It also appears that alerts are only charged on T-Mobile's network.
When roaming, alerts are free.
Does T-Mobile bother listing SMS on the bill anymore? We never see
them on our bill anymore.

As to your latter question, no. The data is still going over the same
networks, the only difference is what you can access. Obviously wap
will limit you to wap only, whereas if you use T-Mobile VPN, you'll
get everything.
I can't answer your question about roaming charges. I can tell you
I've never paid any on my TM Internet plan, but most of my time has
been almost exclusively on TM's network. I've found when I roamed on
some of the voice roaming partners, like Unicell for example, I didn't
have data roaming capability, only voice.
