Called up tmobile this afternoon and renewed my contract, and now have
a new razr phone on the way. Should be here Wednesday. AND they've
upgraded my family plan from 400 to 500 minutes per month. Can't beat
that.

By the way, if I've got bluetooth on my pc, is there a way I can have
the phone automatically sync up with my autolook adress book's phone
#s??

Price with contract renewal was $249 (plus tax) with a $50 mail in
rebate. I also am spet an extra $15 for express shipping -- I'm
leaving on vacation next week and wanted to get the phone before I
take off :-)

Could have gotten it for free from Amazon.

No, you couldn't. Amazon's deals require new activation. An existing
customer isn't eligible for those deals.

Makes me think of something interesting...
You said you were on family plan... An extra line on family plan (unless
you already have 5) costs $10/month... For 12 months its $120... Or about
a half of what you paid... Could make sense to sign up for new line get
free phone and then add it to the family bunch... Ok, there's $35
activation that goes with it, and probably a buck or so per month of
added taxes, but still a saving, and then also an interest-free credit
for 12 months to pay the bill!

And then you just swap the sims between old phone and new one and as a
result you get the extra line for a year not just free - but you are
actually getting paid to have it (considering you would've bought that
phone anyway).

Only thing... I'm looking at amazon.com right now, and it seems that RAZR
is not quite free there -- $200 is a bit more than free. Or am I looking
in a wrong direction?

I just paid $150 with a two year renewal. Great phone, I really like it.
I've been with TMO since July 2005.
