T-MobileWeb and WAP problems

Okay, here's a good one for those who dislike T-Mobile's customer support.

I use an Ericsson T39 under a grandfathered plan, with WAP and full Internet
access.  I recently combined 3 other phones on my account on T-Mobile's
Family Plan, wanting to keep my old phone and plan separate.  The T-Mobile
CSR told me that my individual plan for the T39 would need to be billed
separately from the rest, but that I wouldn't lose access to any of my
services.  Wrong.

I lost all data access -- WAP, e-mail, GPRS internet, all gone.  The next
CSR told me T-Zones was replaced by T-MobileWeb and that the $2.99 charge I
had been paying was now $5.99.  So they signed me up for that, which
restored my WAP access, EXCEPT for T-Zones.  They also told me my internet
access (which I use for a digital pen via GPRS) would now cost me an
additional $29.99/mo.

Meantime, after talking to several CSRs and advancd tech support reps for a
total of more than 6 hours (yes, 6 hours), including 2 disconnects and
repeating my name, phone number and social security number at least 8
different times to everyone I was transferred to, I finally got my WAP and
GPRS provisioning restored.

However, I still cannot access the T-Zones WAP page.  I can access every
other WAP page in my bookmarks. I can even access the T-Zones UK web page,
but I cannot connect to the USA T-Zones web page.  The advanced wireless
data department at T-Mobile is at a loss to explain why.  The error message
on my T39 says "There is something wrong with the page you tried to access.
Choose another link."

Anybody else have a problem like this?  I would appreciate any thoughts
anyone has.

Thanks.

using t39 with grandfathered talk n' text plan (incls voice plus 300
sms, 1mb data, 30 mms)

all  attempts to access t-zones homepage fail with same "something is
wrong with the page" error message - able to wap numerous other sites,
though - don't know how long this has been a problem, because until
recently i hadn't tried to wap anything after setting up the data
account abt 1 1/2 yrs ago - i vaguely remember getting to a t-mobile wap
homepage back then, but i don't think it was called t-zones

i am able to receive text messages but am unable to reply for past month
or so - i had always been able to reply to sms im's from aolers - "you
can reply to this message" - now all attempts to reply fail

i am able to read t-zones e-mail and own pop account, but unable to
reply - no return address appears in headers, nor will clicking through
to reply menu option result in successful send

i am able to read and reply to e-mail through wap.yahoo.com

have sent configurations for wap and sms to phone several times
from t-mobile and from sonyericcson web sites, and have put settings
in manually

have not had a chance to get on the phone with a data specialist yet
and am not totally clear on t-zones vs t-mobile web vs t-mobile internet
vs older "data" plans - it would seem that as long as i haven't changed
my plan, functionality would be grandfathered, too, regardless of what
they're calling it - but who knows...

i'll post something if i find out more

Wow.  Sorry about your problems, but glad to know I'm not alone.  I did the
same thing, configured the T39 via the Ericsson support page and T-Mobile
sent me OTA configurations multiple times.

I think when they changed from T-Zones to T-MobileWeb something got messed
up with the T39's ability to access the page.  I tried my SIM card in
another T-Mobile phone and it worked just fine, which leads me to believe
something in the T39 settings doesn't allow a connect to T-MobileWeb.  Funny
that it connects to every other WAP page.

Hope you can get your problems resolved.

This is what happens with our Sony-Ericsson T616.  With our old r520M,
T-Zones works fine.  With the T616 everything but the T-Mobile home
page works.  I always assumed they don't have the right browser level
for the phone.  I think T-Zones (USA) must work off of some
configuration held by T-Mobile, rather than querying the browser, which
is what I suspect most other sites do.

Try it again.  For some reason, it just started working on my T39, with a
new T-MobileWeb interface.

noticed t-mobileweb/t-zones homepage started loading
correctly on t39 a couple of days ago, too

status check revealed newly working url to be
wap.myvoicestream.com/#main

maybe the " #main " is what's making it work now?

not able to get into configured e-mail inbox ("...communication
error..."), but compose and send worked fine
