Can anyone tell me what (if any) features are disabled on the T-Mobile
version of the phone?
Also, I had a chance to play with one at a T-Mobile store today. I had
stopped using Motorola phones a few years ago because the software was
so boneheaded. Well, it looked like they kept one of the boneheaded
"features" I hated. It looked like each person in the phonebook got an
entry for every phone number they had rather than each person getting
one entry with all their numbers included (the way Nokia does it). Did
I miss something?
Thanks a lot,
Adam

It can be setup to view primary contacts only.

FWIW, only recent Nokia phones went to the ability to have multiple
numbers under a single listing. I had a 5190 and 3390 and 6610 and
only the latter gave you the ability to have multiple numbers.

That's because the Nokia 5190 and Nokia 3390 only stored contacts on
the SIM. There is no "phone" memory only SIM memory. SIMs cannot
store more than one name and one number. If you were using the 6610
and chose SIM memory to store you would not be able to have multiple
contacts on the 6610 either. You need to utilize phone memory to have
multiple names, email and other information.

Was wondering if they disabled certain "features" that other T-Mobile
phones have; e.g. the GSM850 band and the browser setup (Web Sessions)
menu which would allow an unlocked V3 to be used on other networks.

The Cingular version of the Motorola RAZR allows multiple phone numbers
in a single contact. However, you have to use phone memory, not SIM
memory to do this.
I doubt there would be any reason for T-Mo to change this feature for
their edition of the RAZR.

TMo has done a pretty good job of leaving things alone. I only noticed
3 things after changing my Cingular branded v3 to TMo branding: the GPRS
icon is hidden (no biggie), the WebSessions menu is hidden so you can't
add info for another carrier (probably not important since Tzones works
for free internationally) and the Java AppLoader is hidden (use
Bluetooth instead - it's easier). All can be turned on with SEEMS edits
using Motokit. The other item that's missing, only because Motorola
doesn't offer it, is multi-character phonebook search which can be added
by using Motox's reflash. See www.motox.us for info. If you find the
volume too low you can also edit the gains table.

Geez. Things haven't improved much since I looked at my father's V66.
Do they "hide" the GSM850 band too?

I believe they left the 850 band alone but that too can be turned on
with a SEEM edit.
