My house is in a dead spot.  How can I get T-Mo to fix it?

Phone works fine.  I get 2 bars in winter, less in summer anywhere in
or around my house.   If I go 1/2 mile in any direction, I get full
signal strength.    I get better signals in the elevators in my
9-story office building than I do in my front yard.

I've complained multiple times to T-Mobile, and they haven't done
anything about it.

I've searched for other (GSM) carriers with my phone from home, and it
found nothing..  I suppose I could try a non-GSM carrier instead.
Or, connect a rooftop antenna to my Cellsocket..

Do you know for sure that they didn't do anything, or are they not able to
do anything? Could be either one.

If there are a lot of NIMBY's in your area, putting up a tower might be
difficult, or impossible.

Without putting up another tower it's not aslways easy to deliver a
signal to a specific place. However, take a look at this wireless
repeater specifically for 1900Mhz networks (TMo). The $270 isn't cheap
but it may very well solve your problem. They offer a moneyback
guarantee if you don't like it so it won't hurt to try. I do a fair
amount of business with Smarthome and they are a VERY reputable company.

I have that repeater (not purchased from Smarthome) and it works just
great. It has solved my indoor reception problem. However, before you
buy one, you need to make sure you get good reception from the
location where you intend to install the antenna. ie, if in the roof,
test in the roof with your phone. If you can't get a signal with the
phone there, you won't do any better with the repeater. ie, it just
transfers the signal from the antenna location to the inside of your
house.

my house and office are in marginal t-mobile areas and i was able to
increase my signal by 1 or 2 bars by using a wilson antenna.  the only
promise i made to myself is that my next house will have good cell phone
coverage.  wilson antennas is www.wpsantennas.com,  i do not work for them
but sure am pleased with the result

Might depend the carrier.

I get 2, maybe 3 bars on my Nokia 3595 from tMobile in our house (up from zero a
few months ago), but a full seven bars on an AT&T 3560.

A cheaper and better is available at Cell Booster Store - they have
several advantages over the smarthome model: They have an external
directional antenna with a signal strength monitor for accurate
alignment; they support 20 simultaneous callers and they have an 800MHz
model for AT&T (now Cingular), Pace Wireless, Alltel and Viaero if you
switch networks.
