AT&T (recently purchased by SBC who holds 60% of Cingular) has announced
plans to purchase BellSouth (who owns 40% of Cingular). The new company
will be called AT&T and Cingular will change it's name to AT&T as well.

Hope they didn't throw out all those old signs yet!

Well, they AT&T logo has been redesigned since then anyway, so odds
are they will make the AT&T Wireless logo be somewhat consistent with
that of its parent.

One thing's for certain, if this thing gets regulatory approval --
which is FAR from certain -- it's going to make for a confusing period
from a marketing standpoint.
