"Registering" a Prepaid Phone

Just over a year ago, I purchased a prepaid pre-activated SIM card on eBay
for a temporary situation where I could not afford to pay for a regular
post-pay account. The connection worked so well and reliably that I am still
using it - buying refill prepaid cards from 7-11s and other stores.

Question is: Can I "register" this phone number with T-Mobile officially?
Since I never bought the service from T-Mobile officially, they obviously
have no records of me or the number I am using.

I wanted to do this because it might ease my transition to a standard plan
which I intend to start this summer. Also, "My T-Mobile" is now available
for prepaid services and seems convenient to use.

I did call T-mobile a year ago just to make sure the number is not stolen or
something, before I used the SIM card though. It was not, but I noticed that
I could not buy refill cards directly from them online, as it said the
number was not registered or something.

Regards and thanks for any insight.

As long as the phone has never been registered previously then you can
simply call T-Mobile and provide them with the relevant privacy polciy
answers which consist of:-

- Have you topped up your phone in the last 3 months?
- How much did you top the phone up for?

If the phone is already registered then ask the advisor to complete a
PRE-1 on the account which should sent away for a new registration for
a previously owner account.

Thanks very much for the response. I shall be calling them shortly.
