Since I cant seem to find anyone who can repair the earphone jack on my P280 I
need to get a new phone.
T-Mobile offered to send me a refurbished one for $70 and it only has a 90 day
warranty. They must think we are dumb to go for that kind of a deal.
What current phone matches or surpasses the P280 for RF performance. I don't
care who make it but it must be a Tri-Band. I would prefer a Nokia if they have
a high RF phone. I do not use the phone for anything except phone calls and
receiving a very occasional text message. I don't send text from the phone and I
don't use a phone for internet.
All knowledgeable recommendations are welcome.

I rely on this site for RF evaluations:
http://www.arcx.com/sites/index.htm
The list of phones he's reviewed is here:
http://www.arcx.com/sites/PhoneReviewsList.htm
To a lesser degree http://www.howardchui.com, but his RF comparisons
have really taken a back seat to feature comparisons.
You'll have to go through each one to see which match the P280. He
uses the P280 as the benchmark in every test (after the date he
reviewed the 280) because it was/is the best in his testing.
Off the top of my head, the Samsung R225 and the Nokia 6310i were
close to or matched the 280 in his reviews.
His site led me to seek a 280 for testing. I completely agreed with
his assessment and settled on it.

he puts in as much RF testing as before.

I bought the 6310i Nokia to replace the P280 (I don't like Motorola). It is a
GREAT phone and I would compare it to be better than the P280.

I really like the looks of the new 6610 and it's AT&T cousin the 6200.
Sharp looking phones!

Nokia 3650 has a great RF reputation.
