Hello, folks. I'm a new T-Mobile user. I signed up with the additional
unlimited data option with intention of using it primarily on my laptop
(where it works very well), but it's nice to have it on my phone as
well. I've been trying to get WAP to work on my phone (a T300), it does
work with the t-zones profile when I go to a site (not the default), but
when I make a new profile using the "T-Mobile Internet" option, it
connects but does not load a page. Am I supposed to be using this
t-zones profile? It says "Dialing ***", which makes me think this is
correct, and I'm not being billed for any MB's or minutes on my unbilled
summary. I've also got email going, but that works fine through the
"T-Mobile Internet" option. Can anyone help me distinguish between
T-Mobile Internet, t-zones and GPRS (there's a profile called GRPS on my
phone, I thought all the data was gprs?) so that I may avoid any
unnecessary charges? Thanks!
In a way, this is what I liked about sprint - I'd always know what I was
being charged for (I only had 2g service with them, but made use of data
as well).
Thanks again!

Claudio:
You have some very good questions. After numerous calls to tier 2 at
T_Mobile Wireless I have been told there is only one Internet with T-Mobile.
Their web site is very confusing as the CS I spoke with said it is not
correct and is in the process of upgrade. I was not aware of the tying
together of t-zones and internet but when I called they said I had both and
all at the rate of $29.95 a mo. I am still confused as to what t-mobile
really is offering.

You should have multiple profiles for data. GPRS charges by the
amount of data. If you use CSD "dialup" it charges by airtime minutes
used. So if you have lots of night time and weekend minutes you can
basically surf for free (albeit at a slower rate) than with GPRS (not
GRPS!)
