With the holiday season around the corner, Motorola Inc. made several
device-related announcements this week.
The company said the new Motorola V300 camera phone will be available
through T-Mobile USA Inc. nationwide next week. The phone, which retails for
$100, includes a digital camera, color display, multimedia messaging
services and ring tones in its clamshell design.

Motorola also said its C343 mobile phone is now available through Verizon
Wireless. The phone features a color screen, enhanced messaging service and
interchangeable covers. It retails for $80.

Finally, the company introduced Mobile PhoneTools 2.0, a software solution
that links a Motorola phone and a PC to allow consumers to share information
between the two units. The new version is compatible with the V300 handset
and will be compatible with most future phone models.

I wonder when the v600 will become available? Anyone know?

The info page on the Motorola web site says "second half of 2003". Well,
that period is almost over.

No, it doesn't. I will never believe that a Moto handset of any kind sells
for under $100.

They might have meant retail price w/ actiation.

I don't know the official retail of it, but the a dealer once told me that
their wholesale price (from T-Mobile, possibly partial subsidy?) for the
T-193 was only $79.  It was probably not worth any more than that.

Most Moto handsets aren't worth $0.79 :)

Well, ya got me there.  Expecially considering that $79 buys more calls on a
pay phone than the T193 was likely to make before kicking the bucket.
