Hi Dan,

I too have a new T610. I don't seem to be having these problems. I can switch
back and forth between the web browser (WAP) and the phone screen with no
difficulty.

Maybe your phone needs to be sent back for replacement? I dunno.
So far, I've been extremely happy with my T610. I still need to test my
bluetooth headset, which seems to be flaky at times, and the reception is
only average, but on the whole its been a good phone so far. Now I'm just
waiting for TMo to port my number from ATTWS.

T-Mobiles level 2 tech support folks tole me they had never seen a t610
and asked me to stop by a local store and try another unit. We did that
today and got the same results.

If yours works ok, then I have to guess its my account or some setting.
Hmmmm where to start?

That is bizarre. I guess it depends on how much you like the phone. If I were
having those symptoms, I'd take it back and get a different one.

Can you give me more detail on what you are doing and what the symptoms are.
You boot up the web browser, then you exit the browser (right 'more' button,
then choose exit). Then you can't make a call? Is there anything on the
screen? What are you trying to do, and what does the phone do when you do it?

I'm calling level 3 support today and if they cant fix it then I want
a new phone (not a T610 unless they can assure me it won't have this
problem).

1) Turn on
2) Access t-zones via WAP button on side of phone
3) Screen displays
--> Connecting
--> Loading
--> Calling
--> Connecting
--> Verifing
--> Connecting
--> t-zones menu is displayed
4) more (button)
5) select 'exit' - phone disconnects
6) Access t-zones via WAP button on side of phone
7) Screen displays
--> Connecting
--> Loading
--> A communication error has occurred. Try again or contact your WAP
provider.

Now if you power the phone off you can go back to #1 the cycle repeats
itself.

*nod* That's what I would do too, though if the problem is what the others
think it is then a new phone won't do you much better...

Okay to this point.

I don't get this one when I do it. I think the other folks have hit the
problem on the head: you might not be in an area with TMo GPMS service. When
you call them again, tell them that you suspect this is the problem. I
suspect you've one of two options: either replace the phone with a different
one, which may not solve your problem (if in fact you don't have TMo GPMS
service), or ask them to try to fix the dial in problem on your phone or to
shut it off.

Where are you located, Dan? Are you supposed to be in an area with TMo GPMS
service?

I have my phone for over 2 months and I did play a lot with it
My understanding is that if you try to connect to t-zones and there is
no GPRS service or network is to busy phone will try to connect to
server via "dial-up" . I think that those setting are in Data Accounts
under T-Mobile Backup but you can't edit them because they are
preprogrammed from manufacter

UPDATE:

I reached level 3 tech support and they told me my account wasn't
configured properly for free t-zones. The rep reset my account and the
WAP button works everytime.

Big difference I see is it no longer shows "dialing" when connecting,
plus my connection speed seems a LOT faster.

When you were "dialing," you were being connected through CSD (circuit switched
data), which deducts minutes from your account.  If you used it a lot, you
might want to ask for some bonus minutes - they're very good about that.

The funny thing is my minutes used (displayed by dialing #646#) never
went up. And trust me I was browsing for hours & hours...  However I
had the level 3 tech make a note in my account so that if it happens
getting credit should be easier.
