I asked recently at a T-Mobile owned store about my unlocked RAZR
(purchased on eBay) and was told it will NOT update the date/time
automatically. Since I usually only have to change it 3 or 4 times a
year, it was not a big deal for me.

TMo most certainly does have Autoupdate is every place I've been. It's
possible that you are in an area that doesn't have it though. Do you
have Autoupdate turned on? Do you have the option to turn it on? If not,
see my previous post for SEEM edit details.

Autoupdate is available on the v3i if your carrier offers it. I use
TMobile and it works everywhere. Is there an Autoupdate choice in the
Time & Date menu? If not you can turn it on by doing a couple of SEEM
edits:
SEEM 0032_0001:
offset 00 - bit 0: Settings > Initial Setup > Time and Date > Autoupdate
Menu (1 on, 0 off)
offset 55 - bit 2: Time Autoupdate (1 on, 0 off) <-- this will actually
activate the feature, the menu item is in offset 00

Thanks BruceR and Mac Guy. Based on comments online, I thought maybe
European-issued phones couldn't autoupdate date/time from U.S.
carriers. I'll look into the SEEM edit (if necessary) when the phone
arrives in the mail.
