T-mobile web access gone?

I've been able to browse the internet on my SDA with no problem having
just the T-mobile Web Access plan (the old T-zones). Today, I can't. I'm
getting 502 errors. Called 611 and they said basically said we can't
help you. You shouldn't have been able to do what you were doing without
a data plan.

Anyone else having problems?

No problem here in NYC on my Treo with the ($5.99/mo.) plan.

It *is* a little confusing in the terminology, though. The T-Mo web site
calls the plan T-Zones (still) but on my product page it's listed as
T-MobileWeb, which is what I thought they changed it to a while back.)

Whatever it's called, it's still working for me... heck, I'm paying for it so
it better! :-)

Yeah, that's the one I have. The tech support person was telling me "you
can't do that with the SDA". Well, I've been doing it for the past three
months and all of a sudden it just doesn't work. I keep getting "502"
errors.

I hate to say this, but it looks like the techie is right. Oddly, when my
first Treo went south I didn't want to spring for another Treo (T-Mo stopped
offering them, so I would have had to spend about $600+ for an unlocked one
or trust one from eBay) T-Mobile offered me the SDA as "the closest thing to
the Treo." I had the $19.99 full Internet plan then.

I didn't like the SDA, so I switched to a Blackberry, didn't like that, and
ended up getting a Treo 680 at *only* $400 <cough> and dropping the $19.99
plan in favor of the $5.99 because the Treo works fine on the $5.99 plan for
the kind of web access I need, and more important, checking email on the
road.

Really weird that the SDA worked for you for three months... that kind of
shows it has the ability, doesn't it. The T-Mo web site does *not* show it as
a Tzones capable phone though.

I'll have to check out my Samsung E315 to see if it's offline from T-
zones too.

T-Zones is back up and running on my phone again.

Also, the T-mobile configurator DOES include the SDA as a T-Zones phone.
But the config is manual. So I've saved that web page in case tech
support wants to delete my T-Zones. :-)

I finally got hold of someone at TM who knew what they were doing.
Appears there is a system-wide issue with T-zones causing 502 errors and
problems with email access. It is hitting some areas of the country
harder than others.

They have no time schedule for a fix but they're talking days. Not
hours.

Well I'm glad to hear that, and it makes sense, since it was working
initially. Still no prob here, though. Hope they'll fix it soon.
