I have a T-mobile phone (RAZR V3T) here in the USA, and am going on a
trip to Spain in June for 10 days. Can anyone give me pointers on
whether or not (and how) I can use this phone over there? Can I buy a
pre-paid SIM card online somewhere and just replace it while I'm in
Spain? Do I have to notify t-mobile about it first?

Thanks

I just returned from Portugal, Spain and Provence. I have TM pre-paid so I
used an Ekit Global SIM in my Samsung tri-band. I think it was $9 for an
initial 20 mins plus $8 shipping. I added $10 while I was there. It's a call
back system and worked well for me. However, if you're a monthly subscriber,
as I understand it, you just contact customer service and request to be
added to the European network.

Make sure your phone is unlocked before you go. Call T-Mobile and ask
them for the unlock code for your phone and they will give it to you.
If it's not unlocked before you leave, you can't use another carrier's
SIM unless you pay a service there to do it for you.
