T-Mobile and Mobile to Mobile

I have heard conflicting reports about T-Mobile's mobile-to-mobile plan. I
was told when I signed up with T-Mobile that calls to other T-Mobile
customers are free and there is no plan to sign up for.

Several friends with T-Mobile have stated that it's a separate package you
have to buy. I checked online and sure enough there is an "add-on" for
mobile-to-mobile calls that is something like $4.99/month.

I don't have any extra charges on my bill and calls to friends with T-Mobile
show on my bill as free.

Same here (no charge to me for said calls.)

Could it be a regional thing (the extra charge)? I've never been charged
minutes for T-Mo to T-Mo calls. Maybe it's new and being phased in since they
added the MyFaves option. Seems like they would have notified everyone,
though.

Check the website to see which plans include unlimited M2M. Those that
don't can add it for, I think, $6/month.

It depends on the plan you select- "regular" plans include M2M, but the
MyFaves plans do not (you get the free calls to/from five favorite
numbers on any provider, even landlines, INSTEAD of M2M.)

In addition, certain special promotional plans do not include M2M, like
the "Get More 1000" ($39.99 for 1000 anytime minutes, no free N&W, no M2M.

The add-on is for those plans that don't include M2M.

M2M calls are listed on the bill detail as M2M calls even if you don't
have free M2M on your plan.

Tell us what plan you have and we (or T-Mo!) can tell you if you have
M2M.  It'll be line listed on your bill.
