It can't hurt to try ... once you connect your phone to your PC, the
software update program queries the Motorola server and will tell you
if there is an update available for that phone. If so, it will ask
you if you want to do the update. If not, it will tell you that you
have the latest software.

When I tried it, it said my phone was already up to date (V3t purchased
in January 2007, no updates since).
Any ideas what the changes are?
Of course a less sucky user interface is just a dream. I was very much
looking forward to the openmoko/FIC phone but sadly they messed up 850MHz.
