Anyone notice how T-Mobile corporate stores don't keep their display phones
working and in good repair? Went to the only T-Mobile company store in a
large town today. The store consists of a tiny building about the size of a
tractor trailer sitting in the parking lot of a strip mall (Cingular must
have a dozen good sized storefronts in the same town, but store size is
another matter). Wanted to see a working Sidekick 3 and how EDGE data speeds
compare to my Sidekick 2. The store rep couldn't find their Sidekick 3
display phone... then once it was found couldn't find the charger since the
battery was dead... then once it was going stated it didn't have a data plan
associated with it saying something about company stores having problems
with corporate granting data plans for display phones. Overall pretty much a
worthless trip...
Since the Sidekick line is so hot, if I managed a store you'd bet I'd make
sure several Sidekicks were up and running. T-Mobile business is already
good... it would be even better if they could demonstrate working phones.

I've found that the independent dealers generally have better displays
and sometimes even better deals than the carriers.
