Hi...just changed from a Nokia 6100 to a Sony Ericsson Z600 and want
to transfer my phone book over.
I've tried copying to my PC but its in .ncc format and won't be
accepted by the Z600.
I've tried copying to SIM but the phones are on different networks
and are blocked so that won't work either.
Any other ideas?

Unlock the 6100, go to http://www.unlockme.co.uk/ for this. Then you can
copy via the SIM.

This worked a treat and also saved me some money having to go and pay
someone to unlock my old phone so that my wife can use it on vodafone
now too :o)
Thanks a million!

Infra-red?
You can send the phone book from other SE phones this way, and as both
the Nokia 6100 and SE Z600 have IR, I'd guess that might work- but I'm
not au fait with the capabilities of Nokias.

If you're sending the contacts from the Nokia you have to send them one by
one :( unlike SE, Nokia do not have a "Send All" function.

I'm not familar with the SE Z600. However, the easiest way to transfer
information between phones is with common independent software - in this
case, get both phones to synchronize with MS Outlook.
This is usually why I go for mainly Nokia phones. On the 3 network I would
go with LG, but their software crashes often.

Not sure if it's restricted to O2 SIMs or not - still works previously
registered but now ported from O2 to O SIM.

Borrow an unlocked Motorola phone from a mate or just buy one new or second
hand.
Put your old SIM in the Mot'.
Copy the address book from the old phone into the memory of the Mot'.
Switch your new SIM into the Mot'.
Copy the memory of the Mot' into the new SIM.
Sorted.
Sounds like your new SP sold you a puppy...

PS If you really want you can take the new SIM out of the Mot' and put it in
your SE dillberry, but it is probably best just to carry on using the Mot'.

Sync the 6100 to Outlook. Un-install Nokia PC Suite. Install SE PC
Suite. Sync the Z600 to Outlook.
