Hi
I'm looking for a new contract phone.  I'm with onetel.co.uk at the
moment and my current phone is faulty so I really do need a new one.
Over the last 18 months I've ended up spending about £25 per month inc
£5 line rental so that's about the amount I'd like to spend per month.

I need to port my number.  Onetel don't charge for the relevant code
but I guess Vodafone is the obvious choice of network since Onetel use
it (so too, my wife has a Vodafone pay as you go).

Had a good look at carphonewarehouse, thelink and phones4u plus some
others like dialaphone.  Onetel really doesn't seem to be competitive.

I'd prefer a "free" handset and have come up with the ones below.

I'd really like a camera phone and video sounds good but I've no idea
on the ease of use of it.  Email functionality would be good (pop3 or
via a browser).  I guess bluetooth would be good for the handsfree
aspect.

The LG u8120 on 3 via Phones4U.co.uk is an amazing deal at £8 per
month and appeals to the bargain hunter within me, but I am concerned
about the network coverage and the ease of moving away after 12
months.  Anyone any experience of the 3 network coverage?

The SonyEricsson K700 appeals, but I'm less keen on the 18 month
contract on T-Mobile.  The S700i would be even better but no really
good deals on it that I can see.

I've calculated the cost per month taking into account the half price
for so many months / cashback deals.  Feedback appreciated:

LG u8120 on 3 via Phones4U.co.uk with 500 mins, no bluetooth, camera,
email, video playback, £8 per month

Sony Ericsson T610 on BT Mobile 100+ via Carphone, £14 per month

Nokia 6230 18 month contract on t-mobile relax 100 via carphone, £14
per month

Motorola E1000 on 3 via phones4u with 500 mins, camera, speakers,
bluetooth, gprs, mp3, usb, video capture, wap, £15 per month

Sony Ericsson K700 T Mobile Relax 200 - 18 month contract on thelink
inc bluetooth headset, £16 per month

Nokia 7260 Voda Anytime 200 via Phones4u, no bluet, camera, £19 per
month

Motorola V620 on Vodafone 200 via Phones4u, bluetooth, usb, email,
gprs, camera, wap, £21 per month (£1 per month more than on O2 250 at
carphone)

Sharp GX25 Anytime 200 via Phones4u, bluet, camera, £21 per month

Siemens SL65 on carphone on Voda 200, £23 per month

Nokia 6170 on T-Mobile Relax 200 at thelink, £29 per month

Thanks, Steve, the December prices on these sites look good and they'll be
better I'm sure once they've been updated for January.
