If you have a car you could get a plug in car kit and a standard tape
recorder?

Why do you need to urgently record calls?

How would you attach the tape recorder to the car kit? Could you give
some suggestions as to suitable items?

(Why? Bit sensitive, I',m afraid.)

Try quoting some of the original post and the thread will make much more
sense!

Okay, perhaps we shouldn't tell you...your intentions might not be
honourable.

Then I can only thank you for your help so far.

BTW, you don't get the option to quote when posting via Google. In
general, there is no need to quote - unless you don't have a threaded
newsreader??

You can quote when posting via Google if you use the "Reply" option
within "Show Options" rather than the "Reply" button at the bottom.

Not many (if any) modern phones will do what you want - Siemens SL45i
(or SL42,SL45) will. I bought mine from ebay for precisely this
purpose.

Voice recordings can be transferred to computer as .wav files.

Hope that helps!

That's also what I got my SL42 / 5 for, to record to it's MMC,
but the SL45 is a bit dated now, newer phones like Nokia 7610,
and 6600 will also record to their MMC cards too.

On the other hand  www.pc-mobile.net  used to make PHFs for Nokias
including the old 3310 which adapted to a 3.5mm jack plug for plugging
into tape recorders or amplifiers, I don't see them listed anymore,
but worth giving them a email

Nokia 7600 has this ability. Not sure how long you can record for. Never
used it but I'm sure you can find more info on their site.

You can record ANY call on ANY pohone onto a cassette recorder. The page
and the PDF show you how this works. I have one and have been very
pleased. This company have been in this line of biz for a number of
years and they have good solutions. I am a customer, no connection to them.

But GSM phones often interfere badly with analogue connections to tape recorders

Best do it digitally with a dedicated phone like a Nokia 7610 to it's MMC card,
then transfer the digital recordings to a PC with a datalead or over bluetooth.

The analogue connection is set apart from the phone. The pickup is pure
audio. A small ear piece (difficult to describe) fits between your ear
and the phone to be recorded. This is a simple hollow tube, it channels
the audio down to the microphone that is over two foot away. Then a line
jack into the recorder of your choice.

I have seen them used on TV in current afaris, no interefence.
Cheers,
Simon
