I want to send pictures to my Panasonic G50.
I thought a way of saving on the cost of sending a multimedia text
message would be to setup a wap site and upload everything I wanted to
download.

Good idea?  Bad idea!?     : )

Thanks.

Why not using http://www.euploader.com/
Upload your pictures, downoald them via WAP. Simple. I've never tried to
download pictures this way but it works fine for Java applications so there
is no reason it wouldn't work for pics.

Just a warning for you. I downloaded some applications from my own web
space. I got a bill from T-Mobile for doing that. They said I had
downloaded some games. None of the applications I downloaded were
games AND I did it from my own site so there was no charge. Their
technical people couldn't prove what I knew was wrong anyway. The CS
operator waived the charges but warned that next time they would make
a charge. It is obvious that T-Mobile's system can't distinguish
between chargeable and non-chargeable services. The only way I could
see out of the problem, if they hadn't waived the charges, would have
been to send them a bill, from my site, for the download of software.
Needless to say I have been reluctant to download any more
applications via T-Mobile WAP.
Remove 'no_spam_' from email address.

Alright, so next time i'll have to remember to charge myself to download my
own Java application to my own Samsung D500 (that only support OTA Java
installation) from my own web site. That makes me think that i forgot to
charge myself for the dinner i've prepared for myself tonight. I hope that
the restaurant next door is not going to give me a fine for this.

Can you connect to your pc's internet connection with your D500's bluetooth?
If so you could host files on your pc and download them to your D500.

Or does the D500 not support the necessary bluetooth profile?

Martin.

If you want to host a website on your pc then look at Abyss webserver.
Free, easy to set up and administer and very reliable too.
Abyss homepage is http://www.aprelium.com/

If you have a dynamic IP address - it changes each time you establish a
connection - then the free DNS service from No-IP.com is essential so your
website has a 'friendly' URL.

You can password protect all or some of your website folders too - keep the
riff raff out!

Martin.
