Thinking about jumping ship and going from a 6230 to k750i

Am i right in thinking this phone is superior to the 6230i in every
respect

the only drawback I can see is the beta max memory sticks costing
twice as much as the mmc equivalent

oh and the screen res is smaller but the screen looks bigger perhaps
this means that the dot pitch on the nokias is smaller but with less
colours

Am I missing anything or should I go SE k750i

what memory stick do you get with the k750i

I've just switched from a 6230 to a k750i, having looked at a 6230i
beforehand.

I won't say the k750i is superior in every way but generally I like it.
I've never had anything other than a Nokia before so the interface is
going to take a bit of getting used to and I don't think it's quite as
clean as the Nokia one also there seems to be a fair bit more in there.

The camera is obviously vastly superior to the VGA one in the 6230, and
still better than the 1.3mp one in the 6230i, plus you get the flash.
Frankly I think the screen is also better than the 6230i.  It's all very
well ramping up the resolution to 208x208, but the screen is still tiny
by comparison to the SE so everything is tiny.  I much prefer the larger
but slightly lower res screen on the SE.

I'm sure there are things the Nokia does that the SE doesn't which will
annoy me when I find them, but so far all I've found is the SE's
inability to store multiple numbers of the same type against a contact,
which isn't the end of the world.

The phone comes with a 64MB memory stick plus an adapter so you can use
it in drives designed for a full sized stick.

I've just ordered a k750i, after using a 6230.  I don't have it yet and due
to the bank holiday, won't get it till Tuesday.  I've started having a look
around at add'l software for it and haven't had any luck finding out what
the operating system is for the k750i, to ensure compatibility.  Can anyone
out there advise?

Certainly the SE cameras are much nicer and I understand the calendar
functions are also good.

As my old Palm packed up, I was hoping to use this as a replacement.  Does
anyone out there know of an alternative so I can simply export my Palm
contacts to the phone? After that will sync the phone with Outlook.

Happy to post first impressions after I get my hands on the new handset.

Received the new phone today and like it.  A lot.

I was a bit worried that it would be on the large side, after using the 6230
and while it definitely is larger, surprisingly, it feels marginally
lighter.  I was also worried that the user interface would be tricky to
adapt to but this also proved to be a non-issue (I used a Motorola and a
Seimens, for a brief period, and found the Nokia user interface far more
intuitive).

When I swapped over my images and sound files from the Nokia to the SE, I
found the images taken on the Nokia were (not surprisingly) much better on
the SE's improved screen.  The camera is also good, so far.  So far any
annoyances are pretty minor (e.g. won't work with AAC files, and don't like
the file management with the memory stick as much as I with the Nokia and
the SD card) and I think will disappear once I manage to unlearn the what
I'd do almost instinctively with the Nokia.

A great phone.  I'm looking forward to using it.
