Applied for a phone contract on Thursday, received an email saying 'credit
check being done', and questions and they will come back to me in 48 hours.
Well, it's over 48hours and I've heard nothing. They've given me only an
email to write to, no phone number!

Are they normally this useless?

In uk.telecom.mobile, Timfy amazed us all with this pearl of wisdom:

Cheers, the *******s declined me as I'm not on the electoral role at my new
address and then failed to check against my old address that I provided.
ANyway, all sorted out after a number of chats. I even went out and got my
equifax report that said everything was fine except the electoral role. Took
a bit of following up, but new phone arrives tomorrow. :)
