Now here's a thought. O2 owns Airwave, the digital comms system for
the emergency services, at the moment mainly the Police.

This means that the system is now owned by a foreign organisation over
which HMG will have no control, either in terms of charging, or
operation in time of unrest.

Is this worrying?

Oh that's reassuring. Emergency services will be permanently out of order
now, due to be repaired tomorrow. Telefonica are crap.

Unlike EDS, who do loads of defence IT systems, you mean? A nice
British Texan company.
