Recording Sound on K750i

I've recently had the idea of recording my lectures at Uni. Since I
always carry my phone around with me, it seems like the perfect device
to use.

However, when I try to use the sound recorder function on my phone, I
end up only getting about 5 minutes of audio before it suddenly stops
recording. For some reason, the screen still shows that the lecture is
being recorded so I have no idea that the phone has actually stopped.

Does anyone have any ideas why it is doing this and how I can make the
phone record for longer?

Free memory is certainly not an issue as both phone and memory have
well above 20 MB. Since the 5 minute audio files recorded only seem to
be around 1MB, this is certainly not an issue.

Kind regards,

Matt

Can't help, but why not just stay awake and take notes like a good boy?

Clearly you've never been to a Physics lecture here :)

Threre are some things I always think it would be nice to get down but
never have the time during lectures - so recording parts of certain
lectures seems like an ideal solution.

Can you actually hear the lecturer that far back, or you scramble to the
front?

We have decent acoustics in our lecture rooms and many lectures also
speak through a wireless microphone.

SInce these files are only a couple of MB's in size, it seems bizarre
that I am managing to use up my 64MB memory stick, which is mostly
empty, in a matter of minutes.

I think the 5mins recording will be something to do with the phone using up
the available memory space on the handset.
I've got a 512mb Memory StickDuo in my 750i, but I can't find if there is a
recording time limit ( and can't be bothered to leave it recording to find
out!)
I once heard a 30min podcast recorded on a K700i so there must be a way . .
.

cheers
Andrew
