orange payg data costs

Hi put the unlimited orange world £1 upgrade onto my payg sim yesterday.
Really scary how quickly the data - and hence costs mount up.

Nice to be able to use mobile data again properly. At least on PAYG the max
you can lose if anything
goes wrong is the balance on the card - rather than a nasty shock on your
next contract bill.

To test out my new spv 550 i had it connected to the laptop via the usb
cable
listening to streaming radio 4 - nearly 15M in one hour. By my calculations
that would
normally be about £60 (on the £4 for 1M rate) Ouch. How can they justify
that rate??

Hmm think the payg sim will stay in my new phone

It does beg the question if they can do it for PAYG why not contract - Or
maybe it will be "simplified" and
you will only be allowed to access a walled-garden .

I've used the Orange £1 GPRS bundle a few times myself and agree it's really
the best value there is.

I see it's a GPRS only bundle though and not avaialble on 3G which is
understandable - but a shame as i'd like to ditch GPRS and go 3G sometime
soon.

The 3G network transfers data using GPRS, just like the 2G network does.
Where does it say about not being available on 2G?

It doesn't, it says it's not available on 3G. Certainly on dialing 450
then choosing options 3, 1, 4, 1, it mentions it there.
