Problems with Vodafone PAYG sim registration

I bought a Vodafone PAYG sim the other week and am having serious problems
registering a credit card to get the free £2 credit. I've tried 3 different
cards and all I get is the same response "You have entered invalid card
details. Please try again with valid card details". This is nonsense, I've
tried on 2 different occasions now, meticulously checking the details and
it's very annoying. Anybody know if they're doing this so you can't get the
free credit?

I've sometimes had problems with sites not specifying whether or not to use
spaces or -s when entering the number - could that be the problem?
