My Orange phone, same firmware, also has delays but I'd say that 4-5 seconds
are maximum delay times and not the norm. I took mine to have it's firmware
updated on Friday because I was having problems with the Bluetooth and a GPS
receiver when using TomTom but all the shop did was reflash the phone with
the same firmware and put the Orange software back on again. You have to
keep the Orange software on the phone otherwise you invalidate the warranty.

Does this delay shorten on second use of the button? My 6630 and the
6680 also do this, I think all the Nokia Symbian phones do it because
the first time it is asked to display the menu or whatever you have set
on that button the phone has to load the appropriate code and scan the
information it needs to display, on the next use all of this is cached
in RAM.

Yes, once the first option appears, options under that one respond normally.
If that's normal, then fine, just quite annoying! Thanks for your replies.
