Hi,

I have a O2 online PAYG phone and am off to US in a few days, I want to
minimise my costs by making sure that if people try to call they diverted
straight to voicemail in the UK and not to the US. I can't however find any
kind of instructions as to what to do, I know what normally if you divert
all calls you wouldn't get charged for the roamed leg. Do I need to call
1780 to setup a voicemail box number and then through the phone menus tell
it to divert all calls *21*MAILBOX NUMBER#??? Or am I better leaving the
voicemail off entirely and it just generating the network messages?

Also as an aside does anyone know what the minimum balance you have to have
on an O2 sim to take advantage of their 1 free text and call per week offer
as I have another nearly disused sim card what hasn't got much left on it.

Many thanks
Chris

To turn on voicemail dial 1750
To divert all calls to voicemail *21*901# (remember to do this before
you leave the UK)
to cancel when you get back ##21#

I'm not sure if there is a min balance for your free min/text per week.

Hope this helps.
Alan
