This might be an old problem that someone knows about.

I'm trying to use Agile Messenger on my N70 from Vodafone. I had the
content bar lifted but can't get a connection on MSN or Yahoo.

The phone browses the internet OK but no matter what connection I try
and use, Agile won't connect.

I can't find anything on any connection config changes or if Agile just
doesn't work through the Vodafone network.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I'm a newbie on 3G
stuff.

Ta.

Which version of AM do you have? I had endless trouble with the version
ending in -44, upgrading to -46 fixed it. On a 6630 BTW, but it should
make little difference.

I've got version 2.48 installed. Running through the tests, they all
fail.

I'm not sure how good Vodafone support is on problems like this. I've
looked on the Agile site and they have a message in the support area
saying you should contact your provider if you have connection
problems.

Looking at my connection settings on my phone, I can see setting for
proxy servers which makes me think it is something to do with Vodafone
restrictions on open ports to the internet.

There is a Settings Wizard for Symbian phones you can download from
www.nokia.com, sorry I don't have an accurate link to it.

That might well help if this is a GPRS settings problem. I have the
latest AM working OK on my 6630 on Vodafone, but I do remember that AM
*may* not be compatible with the N series as the internal chips are more
integrated than on the 66x0 series phones. Ask Agile Mobile?

Just a thought, but have you got Symantec Mobile Security installed and
the Firewall is turned on (no outbound traffic allowed)?

Cant remember which Messenger program I downloaded on my V1050 on Vodafone
PAYT with 3G, but MSN Never connected and I uninstalled the thing.  I also
got the content bare lifted.  I know on O2/3 you can access MSN Mobile via
WAP and get MSN messenger on there.  Im sure you could find out the address
somewhere and go directly to it via Voda Live.
