AKA Ring them and ask, use whatever persuasion needed!
If you ring the payphones enough, someone is bound to answer it (Assuming
the accept inbound calls of course)

Obviously don't do this from your own land line.

Probably better to get someone else to do it, as they may recognise your
voice.
