Daughter has one of the above phones, on which the speaker has ceased to
work, which I'm guessing is just down to a faulty connection due to the
clam shell design, so in theory should be dead easy to repair.
However, the case is held together by unusual security screws, which has
a tiny 3-way slot which looks something like this from above (if the
ASCII art works):

Any suggestions how to get past these?

Its a special screwdriver, but if they are not too tight you might get away
with a small jewlers screwdriver.

Most likely Torx screws. You can a screwdriver for them off Ebay or a good
online tool supplier. Beaware that there are different sizes.

Be carefully these are not normal torx screws, these are tri-wing screws
exclusive to Panasonic and NEC phones and gameboys, they need a special
screwdriver - about £3 of eBay
