I have a Ericsson T68i, and understand that I need an old T28 cable to
aid unlocking, flashing etc as the t68 data cables arent up to the
job.
Does anyone know if the T68 cable is neccessary for syncing phonebook,
diary, etc or can I get away with using the t28 cable for these more
everyday tasks aswell? It seems to be about half the price too.
Thanks Jake

You wont be able to use the T28 cable for anything other than unlocking
unforunately

I purchased the t28 data cable to unlock a t68i and that is the only use I
have been able to make of it.
No way to connect the t68i to a computer with the t28 data cable except for
unlocking or upgrading firmware. Sorry.

If you have a fine tipped soldering iron you can just swap
two wires round. Google for details.
