Vodafone - PAYT SIMS different from Contract SIMS?

Hi,

I have been evaluating some Vodafone handsets and, to help me out,
Vodafone sent me three 'Pay As You Talk' SIMS. As it happens, I never
did anything with these SIMS and instead used my Orange contract SIM in
the phones.

I am now keeping one of the three phones as one of 14 on a business
account and I spoke to our Vodafone Account Manager to see whether I
could use one of the SIMs he sent me and he's said he has to send me
another one because contract SIMs and PAYT SIMs are different.

Is that so?

Just wondered.

Thanks

PS: I looked at the Nokia N70, Qtek 9100 and Vodafone 1605 - we're going
for the 1605s and so far have not seen any of the famous screen
alignment problems.

PPS: Thanks to Simon Clark for pointing me towards the 1605.

The payt ones have a different "vodafone" menu with check balance, top-up
etc. but they should still be able to link the sim card number with the
account.  Not sure though!?
