Just phoned up 3 to get a PAC code and they offered me a great deal. I
agreed to keep my current handset and they gave me the video talk and text
700 tariff (400 X network mins and 250 texts a month) free for the first 9
months then £35/month for the last 3 months of the contract. I triple
checked it was a 12 month contract. Needless to say I accepted the deal.

You must spend more than me :-(

Funnily enough I don't spend anything on 3G services and never use all my
allocated minutes or texts. I had several calls from 3 around the time my
contract was up and I kept turning them down saying I was going to get one
of those 12mth free line rental contracts. They eventually came back and
offered me a Sony Erickson at 8ths free line rental but I turned them down
stating I used Tom Tom Mobile on my 6680 and was really happy with it. I
suggested the N70 and haggled my way to a 9mths free line rental 12mth
contract.

I got 100mins + 100 texts/month for 12 months for £5 - that's not £5
per month but £5 for the 12 months.

How *did* you get that? Wife's 3 contract ending in a month or so, so
that would be great!!!

Is that a cashback offer or really £5 for a year's contract?

This was direct from a three representative in 3's Indian call centre
- going on my 3 now shows my balance to be -£235 (i.e. in credit) I
presume the tariff is £20 per month. This was the first person I
talked to - didn't get escalated just said I wanted to cancel since
they couldn't match a new deal she said what about this.

I had 2 contracts with 'em and when I called to get my PAC for both and
they offered 100 anytime/network mins and 100 txts p/m with no line rental
and still out of contract.

I moved anyway ...
