This looks good in theory

Does it work well? is it easy to use? is it really free?

(surely it means whilst this app is running you can't see the normal
menu/screen - does it alert you if you have an incoming phone call)

I suppose if you really really wanted to , you could 'chat' to some1
24-7.

I suppose entering predicitive text is a bit of a pain (unless you go
for the Nokia E61 which has a full keyboard)

Yes it works well, you can run MSN in the background and it alerts you when
someone sends you an MSN message, so yes you still receive calls and texts
as normal.

It's good until you get repetitive strain injury and have to take time
off work  (happened to me)

Got a N73 on Friday from 3 and been playing around with the MSN Messenger
over the weekend, apart from it going crazy for about 1hr on Saturday night
(wouldn't show me anyone online when I knew my daughter was, as she was
sitting 2 metres from me) it works great. As someone else has stated you can
leave it running and do other things and it will beep you when you have a
message or someone new comes online.

All I need to do is get more family and friends converted to MSN and I'm
quids in.
