i cannot sent texts from my mobil, i get an error message.
its a 3330 orange pay-as-you-go.
the sim is 2 years older than the phone, originally in a siemens c25.
my nokia is not unlocked, but was on orange contract before i got it

any ideas?

What error message do you get? It's pretty hard to guess what may be
wrong without that information.
What service centre are you using?

Make sure that it is set to send SMS via GSM as opposed to GPRS.

The OP's using a 3330 - it doesn't support GPRS.

SMS contre number altered?
Phone knackered?
Phone reported stolen?

Give us a bit more to go on.
