Use as a modem

Does anyone use their mobile to access a remote modem using a laptop? I use
data loggers at various sites, each has a modem and I'd like to use my Nokia
6021 to access and download the data. I can connect to them with my laptop
using my BT line but it would save me a bundle of time and money if I could
do the same thing through my mobile.

Thanks

Well yes since I suppose technically using a dialup ISP from a laptop
counts...

That would work as long as the modem likes talking to the SP modem when
it negotiates at 9600baud.

Check the tariff small print though: many specifically exclude data
calls from inclusive minutes so it could end up more expensive.

Steve.
