Hiya,

I've installed the remote record SIS app (And the Java app on my n80) and
they both reject my sky username  / password.

Sky told me if I register with skybet i will be able to then login, but that
didnt work either..

Any idea's?

You have to register for remote record on your tv via the interactive
button after you have created an account on sky.com.

I did both of those and have a K750i (supported phone) but the app wont even
download to the phone.

I've done that,

And they recon you have to be a) a sky bet customer or b) have sky movies /
sports

I'm a sky bet customer, and it doesnt show up in my sky.com/myprofile as an
eligble service.

Therefore keeps rejecting my password / username on the mobile phone

see my earlier reply to Jason Drake, use the suggested gprs setting from the
paddy power web site (link in earlier post) i had the same problem with a
Sony Ericson w800 and w810i, "adjusting" the settings as on the site and it
works fine now, even if your gprs is working 100% (as mine was) making the
changes allowed my gprs to still function and Sky by mobile to function also

How do you get the sky by mobile application? I've registered on sky.com
and also entered the information on my Sky box. It all went through
easily, but I don't have anything on my mobile to actually use the
service! Where do you get it from, everywhere on the sky.com site just
points you at registering which I've already done!

I did same as you but it woulkd not download to my phone - kept "Failing".
After registering etc they are supposed to send you a text message with a
link inside it that you click and then it downloads the software.  I never
got the e-mail even tho i asked for it twice but managed to find a direct
link to the file but even then it would not work.

The following is an extract from their FAQ
Ensure that your mobile number is correct (and doesn't contain any spaces).
Please note that some Blackberry handsets may not receive the WAP push
message correctly. In this case, using your WAP browser, go to
mobile.sky.com/skyapp/skyapp.asp and download the application.

Good Luck

Anyone had any joy installing this on a Windows Mobile 5 device?

Browsing to it with WM5, their website points out that the "Service is
not available for your mobile device".. Is it worth me making a request
to the page with a fake user-agent string or will I be doomed to failure?

Seems I am :-(

Changed my user-agent string to "MOT-V600/0B.09.38R MIB/2.2
Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0" to simulate a Motorola.

Managed to get the link to a .jad
(http://mobile.sky.com/SBM/motorola1/SkyMobile_motorola1.jad)

This installs and appears in the Midlet Manager... The Midlet loads, you
get the Sky logo and "Sky by Mobile" on the display... Allows you to
enter a username and password, but it doesn't seem possible to get
beyond this :-(
